If you think that reduced international calling charges through VoIP was convenient enough, what more if your VoIP service alerts you if you have low balance and lets you replenish that balance through a simple push of the a key? Pingo, the online calling service from iBasis offers that service to its consumer and small business users.
As a brief backgrounder, Pingo offers two types of telephony services geared for both individual consumers and business customers. Pingo provides high-quality low cost international calling and long distance service via a prepaid account with no contract agreement. Consumers can buy Pingo minutes using credit and debit cards and then start making international calls using Pingo’s toll-free access at lower rates.
On the other hand, Pingo Business is a telephony service geared for small-to-medium-businesses (SMBs). It provides SMBs with reliable, low cost, easy-to-manage international calling on demand service for up to 999 employees. SMBs have the option to use company-owned or personal fixed-line and mobile phones.
Previously, Pingo lets its users to set up their accounts to automatically recharge when they reached a predetermined balance, but with the new service, an interactive voice from Pingo network will alert users who are making Pingo calls, when their account has a low balance. Pingo consumers would then have the option to replenish their accounts’ balances through a simple touch of a key.
In addition to this new alerting service, Pingo has also introduced enhanced speed-dialing capabilities to both consumers and business users. By using an assigned local Pingo access number, users can simply press a designated speed dial number to connect to a domestic or international calling destination. To use this service, consumers and businesses must register mobile or fixed-line phones in their account line.
Jayesh Patel, VP business and development strategy of iBasis, Pingo’s mother company summarizes the benefits of this new service by saying:
“With these new features, Pingo can offer a similarly high-level of convenience and ease-of-use, all still underpinned by consistently low rates from one of the leading international carriers in the world.”
